Lorenzo's & Sons

It's not that the pizza is too doughy, or that they have the rudest staff in the city, or that the place is small, tight, and cramped, or is it the fact the mirrors in the back room make you feel like you in a cheap 70's disco, or the $.25 charge for a pizza box, nor is it even the sign that says " don't even think about toppings for slices"........ No fellow pizza eaters its not even the fact that me and fellow pizza guy Carmen almost come to blows over this place...... No.... It's just that Lorenzo's and Sons on South Street is exactly what it is..... a place you can walk in at almost anytime, ....grab a huge slice of your favorite pizza (as long as its plain), ... and wolf it down on a drunk empty stomach after a long night out with the gang. I also like this place because its ours, (that is Philadelphia's). Lorenzo's falls in to the ranks of Pats and Geno's steaks , Tony Luke's, and every other so so place to eat which allows it pat

7-11 PIZZA - FUBAR

I think the pizza guys hit a new low here, but I as a pizza journalist must report the story.... In a misguided moment pizza guy Carmen had the insane idea that this might actually turn out to be good pizza..... After begging and pleading with him that we should skip this foreseen disaster, I reluctantly agreed to participate in this fiasco.... What can I say fellow pizza eaters when you pull the pin of a grenade what else would should you expect but a face full of shrapnel and carnage...... At $3.33 i was thinking that I just spent the worst money of my life not to mention that my stomach was doing back flips not more than 10 minutes after eating this crap!!! This stuff (not worthy to be called pizza) is worse than stadium or special event pizza.. Pure crap!!!!!!!!!!! Rating - Z-E-R-O SLICES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Carmen.... don't ever get any more ideas like this again!!!!!!!!!

Santucci Brothers "A Neighborhood Gem"

Santucci Brothers "A Neighborhood Gem" A neighborhood "Pizza Place" with great square pizza made in a pan like I've tasted in Abruzzo Italy where my family still lives. Also very similar to Stogie Joe's in South Philadelphia. This is a no frills place where you will get friendly service from down to earth people. These are Philly's finest locals serving up as they call it "Square Pizza". The pizza was served on a cafeteria tray, hopefully they only use these trays for pizza! Santucci Brothers are also known for putting the sauce on top of the cheese. Pictured her I tried half regular and half white. I will go back and all and all it's quite good. It is in fact a "Neighborhood Gem!" I was excited to see they also offer "Bake At Home" they dress the pie you bake it at home. This will be interesting to try sometime!
